Newbie Night is for members and non-members who want to work in a fun, supervised environment in the hot shop or at the flameworking table. (“Supervised” means we keep you and others near you safe; there’s no teaching.) Also, it’s not just for newbies! Experienced members who want to work in a supportive group environment are welcome. Here’s how it works:

Flameworking & Beadmaking / Monday & Tuesday / 6:00-9:00 pm

You must have some flameworking or beadmaking experience. A minimum of 6 hours of TCGC classes and/or private lessons, or equivalent experience elsewhere, is required.  Be prepared to explain or demonstrate your experience to the Newbie Night supervisor.

You can arrive at any time, but you must be cleaned up and (if you are a non-member) ready to pay for your time by 8:55 pm.

Newbie Night is drop-in only; no reservations. Seven workstations are available each night.

Do not work under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If you appear intoxicated the Newbie Night supervisor will ask you to stop working.

TCGC provides mandrels, bead release, tools and safety glasses. You must provide your own glass. Andrighetti Glass (next door to us) is open Tuesday 5:30-7:00 pm and Wed.-Sat. 12:00-5:00 pm to purchase your own supplies.

No pipe- or paraphernalia-making.

Members pay $13.00 + GST per hour or as per their payment plan, billed and payable monthly.

Non-members pay $14.00 + GST per hour; cash only and paid in full at the end of your session.
